A seminar titled “Caspian Nexus: Connectivity, Energy, and Influence” will be held on June 16, 2026, at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in Seoul. The program will bring together academic and policy-oriented discussions on the Caspian region’s growing role in Eurasian connectivity, energy cooperation, and geopolitical transformation.
The seminar will explore the growing strategic importance of the Caspian region in the context of connectivity, energy security, critical minerals, digitalization, water security, and changing geopolitical dynamics. As the Caspian Sea and its surrounding states become increasingly relevant to regional and global cooperation, the program will provide a platform for discussing new opportunities and challenges involving Korea, Central Asia, the South Caucasus, Europe, and major Eurasian transport corridors.
Bringing together academic, policy, and institutional perspectives, the seminar will address key issues such as Korea-Caspian cooperation, the Middle Corridor, energy and mineral partnerships, environmental pressures in the Caspian Sea, smart city cooperation, and the region’s role in broader international strategies. The event aims to contribute to a deeper understanding of the Caspian region’s evolving place in global affairs and to encourage further dialogue on sustainable and mutually beneficial cooperation.
